Appointment Cancellation & Attendance Policy

1. Appointment Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

2. Missed Appointments

Repeated failure to attend appointments may result in us being unable to continue your treatment or offer future NHS appointments at this practice.

3. Private, Hygienist, Independent Scheme and Deposit Appointments

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling.
If you fail to attend or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full deposit will be retained to cover the surgery time allocated.

4. Missed or Late-Cancelled NHS Appointments

NHS patients are kindly asked to provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel an appointment.
Under NHS regulations, patients cannot be charged for missed or short-notice cancelled NHS appointments. However, patients who repeatedly fail to attend or cancel appointments at short notice may be advised that future NHS treatment at this practice may be withdrawn.
Late arrival where there is insufficient time to safely complete the planned treatment may be recorded as a failed appointment.

Discretion may be exercised on a case-by-case basis where reasonable justification is provided.
